Andrea Torrey

California Operations and Administrative Coordinator

As the California Operations and Administrative Coordinator, Andrea serves a pivotal role in the California field offices, managing day-to-day operations and administration as well as providing communications and fundraising support for the region. She collaborates on outreach efforts, program development, and budgets while looking to streamline processes for the California region as it continues its trajectory of growth. 

Prior to joining the AFT team, Andrea worked for over a decade in municipal parks and recreation as a supervisor, managing the programming, budgets, staffing, and operations of hundreds of programs and events. She also has extensive experience in marketing, communications, and fundraising.

As a native of Marin County, California, Andrea grew up surrounded by some of the most beautiful farmland in the country and developed an appreciation of protected land from an early age. Now residing in Sonoma County with her husband and two sons, she is excited to work not only in California but with stakeholders across the country to preserve our nation's ag land. Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree from UC Davis and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Texas.
