Farmland Information Center

The Farmland Information Center is a national resource center for information about farmland protection and stewardship.

The Farmland Information Center is a national resource center for information about farmland protection and stewardship. It is a partnership between AFT and USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service.

How We Help

Our information specialists answer questions, develop educational resources, analyze key data sources and track farmland protection activity. We supply statistics, review plans, easements and ordinances, recommend model laws, policies and documents and make referrals.

The FIC website offers a comprehensive collection of resources about farm and ranch land protection, on-farm conservation, agricultural viability, and more. It includes fact sheets, articles and reports; federal, state and local laws and legislative updates; sample documents; and statistics, including data from the National Resources Inventory and the Census of Agriculture.

Who We Help

Our goal is to stop the loss of farmland across the United States by empowering communities with resources, information and technical assistance. We help agricultural landowners and farmers; concerned citizens; land trusts; local, state and federal officials; planners; and lawmakers. There are resources on the FIC website for anyone concerned about farmland loss.
