Three Ways You Can Help Save Farmland On Giving Tuesday!

Greg Plotkin

This year Giving Tuesday, the annual global day of giving, takes place on Nov. 27, 2018. Amid the spending frenzy that is Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is different. It is your chance to support the organizations and charities that matter most to you.

I hope that this year you'll consider making one of the organizations you support American Farmland Trust.

This year, your gift is more important than ever. Our recently released Farms Under Threat analysis showed America is losing a terrifying amount of farmland--three acres every single minute. As we double down on our efforts to save the land that sustains us, we need your help.

Here are three ways you can get involved:

1) Set up a fundraiser for AFT on Facebook! On Giving Tuesday, Facebook is matching the first $7 million in donations made on the platform. What's better is that there are no fees for non-profits to accept donations via Facebook. Please consider setting up a fundraiser for AFT to help us take advantage of this great opportunity. It's easy. We promise!

2) Give directly to AFT through our special Giving Tuesday site. Any gift of $25 or more automatically makes you an AFT member! Join with tens of thousands of like-minded Americans in the national movement to save our nation's family farmland and ranchland for future generations. You'll receive special benefits like a free subscription to our quarterly newsletter, "American Farmland."

3) Spread the word! When you're sitting around the Thanksgiving table with your family and friends, remind them that the future of farmland is up to all of us. The more Americans that stand up and join the No Farms, No Food movement, the greater chance we have to make sure our nation's farms and ranches survive for future generations.
