Manager, Agricultural Protection Unit -New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets

Bob is responsible for the administration of the Agricultural Districts Law and the Farmland Protection Law.  His employment emphasis is on “right-to-farm” issues, such as sound agricultural practices, unreasonably restrictive ordinances, and agricultural impact statements. Agriculture Issue Team Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension Albany County

Tom’s most recent educational efforts have been in the area of commercial livestock production and land use issues. He has been instrumental in the development of several farmers’ markets in the Capital District over the last several years.   He received his BS Degree from Cornell University and has served the agriculture community in the Capital District as a Cooperative Extension Agent for thirty-four years.
