| New Educational Resource Helps Maine Communities Protect Farms and Farmland |
| Planning for Agriculture is a new educational brief from GrowSmart Maine. Produced in collaboration with American Farmland Trust, Maine Department of Agriculture, Food and Rural Resources, and Maine Farmland Trust, the brief offers communities advice on how to support farmers, revitalize agriculture and protect farmland. It profiles statewide programs and organizations and provides a menu of local options that can be implemented by farmers, citizens and community leaders at the town level. According to the brief, “the greatest investment you can make to protect working farmland is to help your community plan for the future of agriculture. Start today!”
