EQIP provides technical and financial assistance to producers to plan, design and install approved conservation practices. Examples of such practices include animal waste storage facilities, grassed waterways, grade stabilization structures and livestock watering facilities. The program pays up to 75 percent of the cost of implementing structural and management practices on eligible agricultural land. Evaluation of contracts is based on the use of cost-effective practices and the environmental benefits provided.
