to Celebrate the Protection of the Critz Farms, Town of Cazenovia

Washington, D.C., October 6, 2009 — On October 16, 2009, Cazenovia Preservation Foundation (CPF), Cazenovia Area Community Development Association (CACDA), American Farmland Trust (AFT) and Madison County will join local farmers and farmland conservation leaders, and local and federal officials to celebrate the permanent protection of Critz Farms in Cazenovia.

Matthew and Juanita Critz recently conserved their 240-acre farm in the scenic Town of Cazenovia. The Town was awarded New York State farmland protection funding that enabled the purchase of development rights on the farm.

DIRECTIONS

The Critz Farm in the Town of Cazenovia is located at 3232 Rippleton Road, Cazenovia.  The press event will be held in the new barn area.

From Syracuse:  Take Interstate 690 east to 481 south. Take 481 south to exit 3E.
Follow Route 92 through Manlius to end (intersection with Route 20 at flashing light).
Turn left (east) on Rt. 20 to first light, turn right on Route 13 south. Critz Farms is 3 1/2 miles south, on the left.

From the South: Take Interstate 81 north to Tully exit, turn left off ramp to Route 80.  Turn right on Rt. 80 (east) and follow Rt. 80 east through Fabius to flashing light.  Turn left at flashing light onto Rt. 13 north, follow Rt. 13 north for 3 1/2 miles.  Critz Farms is on the right.

From the East:  Take Interstate Rt. 90 to Canastota, turn left off ramp and follow Route 13 south. Turn right on Rt. 13 south (Rt.5 W) and follow Rt. 13 south (Rt. 5 W) through Chittenango.  Fork left in Chittenango to stay on Route 13 south.  Continue south past Chittenango Falls to Cazenovia.  Rt. 13 south turns right and then left in Cazenovia.  Stay straight on Rt. 13 just outside the village and follow Rt. 13 south for 3 1/2 more miles. Critz Farms is on the left.
