David Barber
Director of Finance, Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture
David's connection to Blue Hill runs back to early childhood, when he spent summers working the land on Blue Hill Farm in the Berkshires. In 1999, David and his wife, Laureen, joined his brother, Dan Barber, in the formation of Blue Hill New York. The partnership helped to transform a neighborhood bistro into a broader effort to establish Blue Hill as a leader in the role restaurants play to promote locally produced food. He has developed the financial strategies that define how the restaurant, food purveyors, and the public interrelate. In addition to his responsibilities as co-owner of Blue Hill, David runs an industrial design firm in New York City and serves as the Director of Finance for the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture. A native New Yorker, David now lives in Westchester with Laureen and their two children.
