Lodging

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel, adjacent to Clayton Hall Conference Center on the University of Delaware’s Newark campus. Conference registrants receive the special lodging rate of $125/night (single or double occupancy). Rooms at government rates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The hotel has a fitness center and indoor pool. Handicap-accessible rooms are available. Reservations at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel can be made by calling 800-321-2211 or by visiting their Web site.

Newark offers a wide selection of lodging within a few miles of the conference site. The Courtyard Marriott is one of 12 hotels in the college’s consortium. Participants must make their own lodging reservations. Conference registration fees do not include lodging. To ensure room availability, make reservations early.

Conference Site

The John M. Clayton Hall Conference Center offers comfortable meeting spaces and leading edge technology on the University of Delaware’s Newark campus. Nestled in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic, the campus is easily accessible by car, train, bus or plane. Philadelphia is less than an hour’s drive from campus, and Baltimore is about an hour away.

Area attractions include the White Clay Creek State Park just north of Newark, the historic and beautiful Hagley and Winterthur museums, the Brandywine River Museum and Longwood Gardens. Pennsylvania Dutch Country is just a short drive to the north and west of Newark.
