Western New England Regenerative Agriculture Project (RCPP)

Are you interested in converting degraded cropland into pasture? Sequestering carbon? Preventing nutrient runoff? Improving pollinator habitat on your farm?

American Farmland Trust has partnered with USDA-NRCS to improve the soil health, water quality, and pollinator habitat on livestock operations in select counties in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Technical assistance and a variety of financial resources will be available to support grazing, reduced tillage, pasture or pollinator habitat establishment, buffers, and more. The project extends through 2025.

Upcoming Funding Opportunities

All of these opportunities are currently closed. Check back for more information.

Technical and Financial Assistance through our RCPP

In addition to our grants, we have a team of conservation planners who specifically work with livestock farms to develop strategies to enhance soil health and protect water quality. Our planners can work with you to apply for funding through the NRCS RCPP program (much like EQIP funding) for regenerative practices at no cost to you. If you are interested in participating, please use the following staff directory based on your location:

  • *VT producers: when contacting the staff listed above, please specify that you are seeking assistance through the “AFT RCPP.”
