General Counsel

Rick Monk is American Farmland Trust's general counsel since 2010, and served as associate general counsel to AFT since 2007. A member of the tax-exempt organizations practice group at Kalbian Hagerty LLP, he advises AFT and other clients on nonprofit corporate governance, land conservation transactions, tax issues, contracts, legislative activities and charitable donations.

He holds an B.A. degree from Emory University, a law degree from the University of Houston, and has been admitted to the bar in Texas and the District of Columbia.
