Membership coordinator
Robert Connelly joined American Farmland Trust in April 2013 as the Membership Coordinator, where he supports the general membership through donor stewardship, project management, and content creation. Working closely with the Manager of Member Engagement and Communications, Connelly ensures strong donor relationships, continued fundraising efforts, and the highest quality of customer service.
Connelly worked for Congressman Jim Moran as his Deputy Finance/Deputy Campaign Director for the 2012 and 2014 campaign election cycles. In addition to preparing weekly direct mail and fundraising events, Connelly represented the Congressman at local farmers markets as well as participated in monthly committee meetings to help promote voter and donor engagement throughout Virginia’s 8th congressional district. Previous to working for Congressman Moran, Connelly was the Permitting Technician for the Town of Burgaw, North Carolina where he researched, compiled, and interpreted information for eight town land-use documents to help design and develop multi-year planning initiatives in the town’s Land-Use Plan Proposal.
Connelly holds a Masters of Public Administration degree with a concentration in Urban and Regional Policy and Planning, and a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
