Managing Director, Federal Policy
Dennis Nuxoll joined American Farmland Trust in 2005 to work on federal policy development and government relations, focusing on issues from commodity programs to conservation, renewable energy, Clean Water Act, climate change, appropriations and nutrition. He advises on political strategies and contributes to media efforts that support American Farmland Trust positions. Nuxoll helped lead our successful 2008 Farm Bill campaign and received the 2009 New Leaders Council Award for Progressive Leadership.
Previously, he served as a legislative assistant to Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), as senior associate for international trade and domestic outreach for Stewart and Stewart law offices, and as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Justice and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
Nuxoll holds a B.A. in political science from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He is a member of the DC Bar’s International Trade Planning Committee and co-author of articles on trade issues.
